A child’s first experience of sport should be something they remember for the rest of their lives.

Mini Athletics is the first of its kind. First and foremost, it is so much fun! However, Mini Athletics is so much more than that. Through 4 progressive classes, children go on a fantastic journey in athletic movement. They are introduced to the basics of athletic movement skills (running, jumping, throwing) in a play based yet structured format. Children are encouraged to develop athletic skills that are fundamental to their early physical development. In addition, the exercises build cognitive and social skills, preparing them for the early learning goals.

The Teenies class is for children that can walk unaided through to 2 years old.  The class for toddlers is an exciting, positive and imaginative first experience of Sport.  It is an opportunity for children to engage with our fantastically visual games that aim to enhance co-ordination, stability, strength and functional skills.  This class encourages toddlers and parents to take part in the activities but at the same time give freedom for them to free play if they wish.  This is a no-pressure environment that is perfect for toddlers and parents/guardians alike.

This class for 2 to 3 1/2 year olds is the perfect introduction to athletics based movement, confidence building fun and learning instructions. Parent participation is needed. Initially your child may be apprehensive to follow class instructions. This is totally normal and expected (please don’t worry!). Our coaching team help parents to encourage children to participate within the structure of the class. Very often it takes 2-3 weeks for children to become familiar with the class routine. However, with parental support, patience and guidance they soon become active members of the class and have so much fun!

In this class, our athletics based activities for 3 1/2 to 5 year olds emphasise teamwork, competition and social interaction. Through team participation and working together children’s confidence grows session to session. If this is your child’s first experience of Mini Athletics then they may be less willing to join in with other members of their team. This is normal and usually only occurs for the first few weeks while children are getting used to each other. By week 3-4 children are co-operating together.

Parents or guardians are required to stay for the class.

Our Mini Athletes class for 5 to 7 year olds start the specifics of athletics events through game based activities. This class has the added element of teaching children the basics of athletic skills that can be used in all sports throughout life. In addition, they will aim to improve targets which will be specific to their athleticism of jump, run and throw.

Parents or guardians are required to stay for the class.
